There’s a good chance that your website, or one you work on or interact with regularly, is running on WordPress; after all, WordPress powers over a third of the web. But what powers WordPress?
People do – thousands of them – mostly volunteers who give a little of their time and talents to make WordPress better for everyone. The best part is that anyone can help! You don’t need to be a designer or a developer, have a technical background, or go through any specific training.
Maybe you are thinking, “But I’ve never contributed before, how do I get involved?” or “I don’t know anybody who does this, how will I fit in?” No worries, we have you covered. We’ll have workshops at different times during the first two days (November 1 and 2) to welcome you to the process of contributing. Whether you’ve been working with WordPress for years or days, we value you, and the talents you bring.
There are eighteen different contributor teams, that all do their part to make WordPress the successful product we see it as today. From writing documentation to translating strings, from marketing to answering support questions, there’s a way for everyone to help make WordPress better!
